Research Technician Job Posting


 Research Technician - Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine



My name is Michelle Conway (michelleconway@email.arizona.edu) and I am currently a Research Technician working in a pulmonary lab at the U of A. Our lab has been looking for another research technician for a couple of months and have still yet to find someone to fill the spot. We are trying to find someone that has already graduated, since it is a full time position.

The Department of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician for the Pulmonary Division at the University of Arizona. The selected candidate will perform research in the field of allergic airways disease and asthma, with special emphasis on innate immunity and airway remodeling. The prospective candidate should have the ability to perform a variety of complex laboratory tasks, scientific assays, and experimental procedures both independently and in a team environment.


  • Establish and maintain tissue cultures derived from human lung epithelial and fibroblast cells.
  • Perform a variety of scientific experiments/assays including: ELISAs, western blotting, real-time PCR, genotyping, and immunofluorescence techniques.
  • Assist with the collection and processing of samples obtained from bronchoscopy procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental data and prepare information for electronic database storage.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a biorepository of collected cell culture samples.
