ScribeOne | Paid Medical Experience for Students

My name is Jessica and I am the Operations Assistant at ScribeOne. At ScribeOne we hire and train medical scribes for providers at emergency departments and various specialty clinics throughout Arizona. Our company is currently recruiting for scribes to work in specialty clinics in Tucson, Arizona.

I am reaching out to provide information about the unique opportunity for students to gain first-hand paid medical experience working with providers in specialized clinics including, but not limited to, Neurology, Cardiology, Transplant, Trauma, General Surgery, Oncology, and Pediatrics.

As a medical scribe, you will work one-on-one with providers assisting with the documentation for each patient to which the provider evaluates, allowing you to gain invaluable experience as well as expansive and relevant medical knowledge helping to better prepare you for a future career in healthcare. Furthermore, this experience is especially unique as it also allows individuals first-hand exposure to a variety of specialties in health-care in Arizona.

This position is not for everyone as both the fast-paced environment and complex materials requires those students who are highly motivated, eager for knowledge, and sharp intellect in order to succeed as a scribe. At ScribeOne we are looking for individuals who possess all these characteristics as well as desire to help others.

Shifts are 7a-5p lasting 8-10 hours in duration Monday- Friday, working side-by-side with a single provider. Scribes are expected to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week at part-time or 4-5 shifts per week at full-time.

The training required for this position is extensive and requires multiple sessions of both paid classroom and clinical training. During this time, we teach topics ranging from medical terminology, outpatient clinic flow, pathophysiology, medical/legalm documentation, and EHR (electronic health record) use just to name a few.

The training is separated into two components consisting of 2 weeks of classroom and 2 weeks of clinical, requiring dedication both inside and outside of the classroom in order to be successful. Those who are successful in passing and completing both components then begin working independently.

This opportunity is both exciting and unique and one to which has shown to be both an excellent experience and resource for those preparing for a career in healthcare. I have attached a flyer to this e-mail containing more information about the position, locations, and how to apply.

For more information please feel free to visit our website www.scribeone.com. Should you have any questions regarding our program please do not hesitate to contact us directly at humanresources@scribeone.com

We feel the students in your department would be an excellent fit for the position and if you could please share this opportunity with your students we would greatly appreciate it! I look forward to connecting with you!

Great employment opportunity for any one who wants experience in the health care field

My name is Iris Mora and I work at Arizona Eye Consultants. I am in charge of recruiting scribes/technicians for our very ophthalmology/optometry practice. We have 11 providers, 7 MD's and 4 OD's. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in medicine, optometry or any health care field. We have 5 locations in Tucson, and some near the UA campus.

Currently we are looking for students who preferably speak Spanish, or have scribing experience.

We do offer part time and are willing to work with their schedule.

This is a great opportunity for students to get hands on experience and potential letters of evaluation from our providers

City Internships | 2019/20 Pre-Launch Notification 2021

In-person programs resume summer 2021

While we have refrained from launching our summer 2021 in-person programs so far, we are now taking a more – albeit cautiously – optimistic stance, and will be opening admissions for all summer 2021 programs publicly on Sunday 1st November.

Naturally, places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. And we anticipate unusually high demand.

Correspondingly, I would like to invite students interested in joining a summer 2021 in-person program to apply now, in advance of the public release, here:

www.city-internships.com/apply/

(We will not be providing in-person programs before June 2021. Yet, our expanded covid-19 assurances and student financial aid will remain in place for all students indefinitely.)

Special remote programs for seniors & new graduates

Our attention in recent months has largely been focused on those whose careers face most imminent disruption; seniors without work experience and new graduates without direct pathways to work.

In concert with our academic partners, we have developed two special derivatives of our Remote Program – SemesterAccelerator and GradLaunch – to address the needs of these two groups.

The former is a part-time, semester-length program for Seniors (and other students similarly affected by widespread internship cancellations this year) to gain work experience before they graduate and enter the jobs market. The latter is specifically for recent graduates currently navigating the (obviously distressed) jobs market.

Students may learn more here. And apply here.

Academic partnerships

We were required to redirect a significant proportion of our resources towards ensuring our Spring and Summer students were successfully transferred from in-person to remote placements earlier this year. And, as a consequence, I allowed progress on new Academic Partnership enquiries to fall by the wayside.

For those who submitted academic partnership requests in June and July, but did not receive a response, I apologize. I will reach out to you directly in the coming days.

With thanks and best wishes
