JOB OPENINGS FOR FALL SEMESTER

JOB OPENING FOR FALL SEMESTER
TWO FEMALE STUDENTS ARE LOOKING FOR PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANTS, BOTH LIVE ON CAMPUS   (Respond to ads below)

Hi, my name is Erin and I am a senior as a journalism major with a minor in sociology. I am looking for a student who is willing to be become my Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for the next school year.

I have a cervical spinal cord injury and am now a quadriplegic. Because of my injury I am unable to move my fingers and use a power chair for mobility. I need help with activities such as dressing, bathing, toileting, range of motion stretches and random housekeeping with the additional Starbucks or food run.

I also have a service dog who is recovering from surgery right now so you have to like dogs because you will have to do some stuff with her also such as going potty, brushing, and so on.

Complete training is provided and experience is always a plus. I use a lift for transfers which provides for a safer move for both me and the person helping. You will be working for me, but employed by my hiring agency. You will be paid for any training and pay starts at $12/hour. You must also pass a background study. Above all you must be reliable so I am able to do the things I need to do that day. This is by far the most important part of the job.

It’s great experience and looks fantastic on a resume for pursuing a medical or healthcare career. You will be a part of a group of four other students so the semester-to-semester is scheduled around your classes. My apartment is also on campus so it’s convenient if you are already there for classes.

The only shifts open are Saturday from 8-10am and 9-11pm and Sunday from 8-10am. I’m looking for someone who would be willing to take all three of those shifts—so this is a job that is helpful for students who have a full schedule during the week.

Email me ethomson@email.arizona.edu with a little bit about yourself and when you may be available for an interview. I would like to start interviews as soon as possible so please let me know if you have any questions!
