Survey for Chinese international students and visiting scholars at the U of A

"Dear fellow Chinese international students and visiting scholars at the U of A,

I hope this email finds you safe and healthy in this Covid-19 pandemic and the new semester.

My name is Liwen Zeng, a Ph.D. student from the School of Sociology. I am writing to invite you, Chinese International students or visiting scholars who have already registered for the Fall2020 Semester, to participate in an online survey related to your cross-cultural experience and health status. In the survey, you will be asked questions on your social background, plan to return to China, acculturative experience, health status, social support, and social networks.  After taking the survey, you will have a chance to win a prize for 100, 75, or 50 dollars. The survey includes both Chinese and English versions. And it will take you about 15 minutes to take either version. Thank you for your generous support!

Your participation and your responses in the survey will be kept confidential and will only be used for research purposes. If you have any questions, please contact me by the email address at liwenz@email.arizona.edu. Or you can contact me through my Wechat account, liwenz86arizona.

STEM majors: scholarship opportunity

McLean Transfer Scholarship, $2000

Eligibility:

  • Transfer student from an Arizona community college (transfer students have transferred in at least 12 units of credit and are designated as Transfer admits in UAccess) and
  • Successful completion of a UArizona math class above the level of pre-calculus and
  • STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) at the University of Arizona

As much as possible, the McLean transfer scholar will be chosen with attention to their overall GPA, their mathematical aptitude, and emerging leadership within the community.

Notes: scholarship money will be disbursed into the recipient's Bursar's account in January, in time to be used for spring tuition, so students graduating in December are *not* eligible to apply. The endowment is also very clear that students must have already completed a math course here at UArizona, so brand-new transfer students are not eligible for this application cycle. This is an annual award, so they may apply next time.

This is a great opportunity with a simple application.  Apply here:  https://goo.gl/forms/4IGm7WuMtPLtkM7M2

Application deadline: Friday, October 30.
