Learn how design thinking can help you explore your life and career opportunities!

Are you interested in adding an extra unit to your current schedule? Do you want to learn how design thinking can help you explore your life and career opportunities? The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the office of Student Engagement & Career Development are now offering two one unit special topics courses available in Seven Week Second Session this Spring 2019!


SBS 295 – Design Your Life
One unit
This course uses the Design Thinking process to engage students in career- and self-exploration for the purpose of developing agency in creating and guiding their career path. Students will develop a plan for their engagement and skill-building experiences that will allow them to test their ideas for a life plan that integrates work and personal values.


SBS 395A – Design Your Search
One unit
This course engages students in designing their personal plan for searching for a job or internship through the gaining of knowledge about timelines, resources, and expectations of a successful search and reflecting on how their personal skills have value in their desired career path. Students should take this course when they are in an active search for a job or internship.
