Dr. Eggers laboratory needs an undergraduate technician/researcher


I am currently looking to replace my undergraduate technician/researcher who is graduating.  Please see attached job description.



Undergraduate Lab Technician
Position Summary
Applications are invited for the position of undergraduate lab technician in the laboratory of Dr. Erika Eggers to support retinal neuroscience research. This is a part-time position of 10 hours/week. Previous undergraduate technicians have split the technician position with laboratory research for credit, including eventual development into honors theses.  This position would begin in mid-May to overlap with our current technician for training.

Duties and responsibilities:
-      Work under general and direct supervision while making laboratory stocks and supplies, and maintaining laboratory records for these procedures.
-      Perform basic lab management duties such as maintenance of lab records and equipment.
-      Work with handling and testing mice.
-      Perform general laboratory maintenance as needed including washing dishes, cleaning and organization.  

Minimum qualifications:
Undergraduate majoring in science or engineering. Must have completed both introductory chemistry courses with laboratories. Comfortable with using animals in research.

Salary level:
$11 per hr

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with MATLAB programming.
Previous laboratory experience.
