Job posting for a part time medical scribe.  Looking for a medical scribe/assistant for Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30am-5:00pm, compensation would start at $10/hour. This position gives the student an opportunity to learn more about the orthopedic and plastic surgery plus insight into the field of medicine. Ideally it would be nice to have one person if their schedule did not work with the days we are looking for. Below is the job description.

DUTIES
This position serves as a medical scribe for Dr. Camela Pokhrel, an orthopedic hand surgeon, as well as Dr. Arun Rao, Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon with Rao Plastic & Hand Surgery. We are seeking a candidate to transcribe surgeons encounters with patients into the electronic medical record in the office. We are seeking a candidate that is conscientious and will be actively engaged during office visit with patients. It is essential to accurately record the surgeons physical exam of the patient as well as documenting a care plan for each individual patient.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Requires friendly personality and exceptional customer service & communication skills.
  • Requires computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
  • Requires excellent typing skills.
  • Requires ability to perform multiple tasks with attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Requires basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Requires ability to work within a team environment.
  • Requires the ability to be friendly and courteous at all times especially under stress.
  • Requires ability to handle confidential information and be trustworthy.
  • Requires the ability to obtain information in a professional manner.
  • Requires ability to exercise judgment in the resolution of problems encountered.
  • Requires excellent attendance and punctuality.
