Student workers (lab positions)

We are looking for 2-3 students who are early majors, but not just starting.  The student must have completed some physical science courses, perhaps just finishing freshman year, and must be in the physical sciences.  We will train the students in molecular biological techniques to produce recombinant protein fragments of human and mouse muscle using  bacterial cultures, genetically modify these recombinant proteins using site directed mutagenesis, plasmid preps, pcr, enzyme digests, etc.  We will also properly train to prepare buffers and reagents, there may be some animal work, and we could also take those wanting to receive class credit.

If any students are looking for a volunteer lab position, feel free to contact me
and attach a resume.

Sincerely,

Alfred Gallegos,
