Historically,
high-need students in Nevada have not had equal access to an education that
adequately prepares them for college and career.
Nevada Teacher Corps trains recent college
graduates to become exceptional, certified, elementary school
teachers. Our fast-paced seven-week summer training program focuses on the
essential skills that teachers need most to start strong. Fellows will
repeatedly practice foundational classroom management and instructional
techniques, receive direct feedback from skilled coaches, and must pass a
series of evaluations in order to be eligible to start teaching in the fall. MORE INFORMATION
We
are also searching for newly licensed teachers in the areas of special
education, secondary math, and secondary science. We help these talented new
teachers gain reciprocity to teach in Nevada, put them directly in touch with
hiring principals, and support their hiring processes at our partner schools in
the Las Vegas area.
