IMPROVING
HEALTH, DEVELOPING TREATMENTS
Are you interested in understanding the
mechanisms behind disease and developing treatments to treat medical problems
and improve human health?
The Physiological Sciences Graduate Interdisciplinary Program at the University of Arizona is a great fit for those interested in diseases and treatments. Physiological research is concerned with how systems – from molecules to entire organisms – function, how this function is disturbed in disease, and how treatments could be developed to restore the normal function. Current research being done in our program includes treating polycystic kidney disease and developing methods to improve organ transplantation. The UA requires PhD students to complete a minor, which gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge in areas outside of physiology, such as Medical Pharmacology. Quick facts about our program:
I encourage you to visit our website for more information about our areas of research, faculty members, funding opportunities, alumni testimonials, and admissions information. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I hope to hear from you soon!
