Weekend Personal Care Assistant Wanted

I'm 50 yrs old, been married 25+ yrs, and have had my disability since my teens.  I am quadriplegic, use a power wheelchair, I'm pretty easy going, college educated, and like to talk & joke around.  I tend to get along with almost anybody.  My wife and I live just south of downtown so only about a mile from the Euclid/6th St. corner of Campus.  We don't smoke.  We do have 2 friendly dogs.

I need help Saturday and Sunday mornings starting at 8:00 a.m. (flexible)  Experience a plus but not necessary, will train and the work is not difficult
Total time each morning is generally 1:15 to 1:30 (hrs:min) once the routine is learned,  
Primary needs are:
   * bathing (in bed),
   * dressing,
   * full-assist pivot transfer from bed to a wheelchair, I am not heavy
  * adjusting clothes and repositioning person in wheelchair for comfort & safety,
  * some very basic breakfast preparation

About this Job
Job Description The College of Medicine (COM Administration) Personnel Affairs Office is seeking candidates for the position of Student Office Assistant (Student Group B) to work 20 hours per week. The selected candidate will provide support to the Coordinator of Personnel Affairs and will need to possess a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, initiative, independence and organization. The COM Administration Personnel Affairs Office coordinates and provides professional human resources and personnel services for approximately 130 employees that are within the COM administrative sub-units. The office also reviews and approves the following for the College of Medicine departments and centers: Graduate and undergraduate new hire and job data change transactions (including E-verify), position control number creation/edits, personal information changes and all Classified Staff job postings. The office also provides support and training to the departments and centers concerning the processing of personnel transactions and works closely with the central University of Arizona Human Resources team. If you have been awarded a Federal Work Study Award, please mention this in your cover letter. Federal Work Study is not required for this position but is highly preferred. Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation, ordering and maintenance of the New Employee Onboarding materials.
• Assist in the completion of the E-verify process.
• Assist in the preparation of new hire, job data change, personal information, supplemental compensation and other personnel forms for processing.
• Follow-up on pending UAccess transactions or personnel forms and document results.
• Input candidate disposition codes and notes in UA Careers, change status as needed.
• Prepare for meeting agenda items (i.e. PowerPoint slides, handouts, etc.) under general instructions from supervisor.
• File and maintain employee personnel files.
• Deliver personnel documents to the appropriate offices.
• Send updates to the Dean’s Administration with information about new hires, transfers, name/title changes and terminations so that the organization charts, listservs and the COM newsletter can be updated.
• Respond to employment verification requests and direct to the appropriate office, as necessary.
• Assist the COM Personnel Affairs Coordinator with other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
• Attending the University of Arizona while maintaining a minimum of six enrolled units (Spring 2018/Fall 2018 and continuous until graduation).
• Prior work or school experience using Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Must be able to work and maintain a work schedule of 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8AM-5PM (varied work schedule depending on class schedule).
• Must be able to maintain working during the winter/summer sessions without being off from work for extended periods of time (i.e. longer than one week).
Preferred:
• Federal Work Study Award recipient.
• Prior experience where excellent customer service was provided.
• Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Skill in basic math.
• Skill in the use of a personal computer/software.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
Approximate Hours Per Week 20
