Student Engagement and Career Development is excited to
again be working with our friends at TGen and the UA Medical School in Phoenix
on a tour of their facilities during winter break.
As we have done for
the last few years, we have made arrangements with the Translational Genomics
Research Institute, located in Phoenix, for an upcoming information session, a
tour of the TGen facilities and an optional tour of the UA Medical School in
Phoenix.
The information session will be held on-campus, in SUMC 411, on
November 12, and the tour of the TGen facilities will happen over winter break,
in Phoenix, on January 9, 2020.
Both events require students to register
through Handshake (links provided below). These opportunities are
intended to inform and educate students about the Helios Scholars Program, a
paid, eight-week summer internship in biomedical research.
Students majoring/interested in the following areas are
encouraged to attend: Physiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biomedical
Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Microbiology,
Molecular and Cellular Biology, Neuroscience & Cognitive Science, Nursing,
Public Health, Statistics, Veterinary Science.
