The
University of Arizona Health Sciences is pleased to announce its Border Latino
and American Indian Summer Exposure to Research (BLAISER) which is funded by
Arizona Area Health Education Centers (AzAHEC) every summer.
BLASIER
is primarily a research-based program. Its goals are to expand the pipeline to
support future physician scientists and health care researchers; increase
awareness and promote research efforts in our underserved communities to better
understand health disparities and their impact on health outcomes; attract and
retain students of diverse populations who have a strong interest in biomedical
research and a desire to learn more about health disparities from Southern
Arizona; and to encourage the students to pursue graduate studies by equipping
each student with the necessary skills to become a competitive graduate
applicant.
Accepted students will received a stipend of $3000 to cover living
expenses for the ten-week duration of the program.
For more information on the
program and how to apply, please visit the
website https://uahs.arizona.edu/blaiser.
The application
deadline is 02/24/2020.
