Every year, the National
Italian American Foundation
(NIAF) offers scholarships to deserving Italian American
students to help lessen the financial burden
incurred in the process
of continuing their education. As per our donors' requests, our scholarships are targeted towards students
from a wide variety of disciplines, geographic areas and at certain cases designated to students of specific
institutions.
The Eleanor and Anthony Def rancis Scholarship is a scholarship that we offer to an outstanding Italian American
student majoring in a pure natural science
or related field attending
the California Institute
of Technology, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or the University of Arizona. Eligible
candidates must also demonstrate financial need by uploading their FAFSA onto their application.
To be considered for a NIAF scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
•
Be a member of NIAF or have a parent who is a member of NIAF.
•
Be a United States
citizen or a permanent resident
alien.
•
Have at least one ancestor
who has emigrated from Italy.
We hope that you will share this opportunity with your students
and encourage them to apply to our scholarships. Please direct any interested students
to http://www.niaf.org/scholarships / where they will find instructions on how to apply. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me an e-mail at gmileti@niaf.org or
call my direct
line at (202)939-3116.
