 Applied Biosciences, Professional Science Master’s Description:

The Professional Science Masters (PSM) in Applied Biosciences is designed to prepare students to enter a competitive, scientific workforce. The Applied Biosciences program consists of foundational and practical training in various areas of applied biosciences and along with a professional component that includes internships and "cross-training" in workplace skills, such as business, communications, and regulatory affairs.

During the two-year course of study, students will gain a strong understanding of the applications of the biological sciences to real world problems, including those faced by public institutions and private industry. As an interdisciplinary program, students can customize and design their curriculum to suit their goals and needs, under the supervision of their advisor.

The Applied Biosciences program is divided into specialized tracks or sub-plans; students apply to and pursue studies within one of these tracks below. • 1. What are the Minimum Prerequisites?

  • Students who wish to apply to the PSM degree in Applied Biosciences must have the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Bachelors (or equivalent) degree with a major in an area of biosciences from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA
  • A desire to pursue a professional career in the applied biosciences
