My
name is Gabby Huffer and I am a Lead Scribe at ScribeOne. We are currently
looking to hire medical scribes for outpatient specialty clinics, the ED, as
well as telemedicine scribes in the Tucson area. I am also a former U of A
Physiology graduate and I was hoping you could pass along the below
information to your Physiology students and/or post on the PSIO blog
website:
At
ScribeOne we hire and train medical scribes for providers at local emergency
departments and various specialty clinics throughout Arizona. Our company is
currently recruiting for scribes to work in emergency departments and specialty
clinics in Tucson, Arizona. Additionally, we are actively recruiting for
TeleScribes to work remotely for providers throughout Arizona.
I am reaching out in this e-mail to provide information about the unique opportunity for students to gain first-hand paid medical experience working with providers in a Level 1 Trauma Center and in highly specialized clinics including, but not limited to, Neurology, Cardiology, Transplant, General Surgery, Oncology, and Pediatrics.
As a
medical scribe, you will work one-on-one with providers assisting with the
documentation for each patient to which the provider evaluates, allowing you to
gain invaluable experience as well as expansive and relevant medical knowledge
helping to better prepare you for a future career in healthcare.
Furthermore, this experience is especially unique as it also
allows individuals first-hand exposure to a variety of specialties in
health-care in addition to emergency medicine in Arizona.
This position is not for everyone as both the fast-paced
environment and complex materials requires those students who are highly
motivated, eager for knowledge, and sharp intellect in order to succeed as a
scribe. At ScribeOne we are looking for individuals who possess all these
characteristics as well as desire to help others.
Multiple shifts are available lasting 8-10 hours in
duration, working side-by-side with a single provider. Scribes are expected to
commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week at part-time or 4-5 shifts per week at
full-time.
The position offers both paid classroom and clinical
training. The training required for this position is extensive and requires
multiple sessions of both classroom and emergency department clinical training.
During this time, we teach topics ranging from medical terminology, emergency
department and outpatient clinic flow, pathophysiology, medical/legal
documentation, and EHR (electronic health record) use just to name a few.
The training is separated into two components consisting of
2 weeks of classroom training and 2 weeks of clinical training and requires
dedication both inside and outside of the classroom in order to be successful.
Those who are successful in passing and completing both components then begin
working independently.
This opportunity is both exciting and unique and one to
which has shown to be both an excellent experience and resource for those
preparing for a career in healthcare. I have attached a flyer to this e-mail
containing more information about the position, locations, and how to apply.
For
more information please feel free to visit our website www.scribeone.com. Should you have any
questions regarding our program please do not hesitate to contact me directly
via email or on my cell phone at 928-279-5733. I am looking forward to
connecting with you!
