I am
happy to announce the Parents & Family Association is offering the BC
Harley Endowed Scholarship. The BC Harley Family Endowed Scholarship grew out
of a dream to honor the life of Brock Christopher Harley, a young boy who
battled illness in his first year of life and left the world just too soon. In
addition to remembering Brock Christopher Harley, the scholarship was
established to acknowledge the brave and courageous members of the extended
Harley family who have suffered serious illnesses over the years.
The BC
Harley Family Endowed Scholarship will be awarded by the Parents & Family
Association Advisory Board to a full-time, current undergraduate student who
has been affected by cancer or other serious illness, whether themselves or a
family member. Student engagement, leadership positions in extracurricular
activities at the University of Arizona, and academic merit are also taken into
consideration when choosing a recipient. Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
The scholarship will be awarded for the 2017-2018 academic year. The
award amount is anticipated to be $500, and will be a one-time award per
recipient, and we will be distributing two $500 awards this year.
The scholarship application is now
available on-line through Scholarship Universe and is due May 24, 2017.
Students who are interested in applying should log in to Scholarship Universe
using this link and then type Parents & Family
Association: BC Harley Family Endowed Scholarship into the search function.
